WHAT'S IN A WEBSITE?

September 1, 2016

Everyday, marketers pour hours of work into raising company awareness through social media marketing. Such activity delivers content with the aim of diverting potential customers to a company webpage and in-turn gaining leads.

However, it is crucial for any business to have a solid homepage to give the best chance of winning new clients.

So, what makes a perfect website?

Hubspot have provided a list of brilliant websites to show what works, here.

There are however a few guidelines every company should stick to when designing any website:

Mission Statement – Concisely explaining the purpose of your business will let viewers know that you are what they are looking for. Prominently listing your products and services in the clearest terms will be the core ingredient for attracting the right audience.

Aesthetics and Ease of Use – Any webpage should be easy to navigate through, so there is no need to overcomplicate the design and bombard users with more information than they can take in.

Keep distractions such as huge images and banners low and maintain a consistent design throughout to allow simple browsing. Purchasing products and services as well as browsing should be simplistic – don’t give potential customers a reason to look elsewhere.

Provide Media – Image collections, videos and blogs are sure to keep viewers sticking around for much longer than any plain text website.

As videos and images attract interest like no other form, take advantage of this by providing high-quality images and professionally made videos. Regular blogs also give viewers a reason to keep coming back, and to subscribe to news or emails from your company.

Allow Lead Generation – Always encourage visitors to read into your company further with a “Learn More” option. Encourage a deeper interest in your company with free trials and demos – even set-up landing pages for niche users who have been referred to your website from somewhere specific.
